KubeArchive Logs
This page refers to the logs produced by KubeArchive. To see how KubeArchive integrates with logging systems, check Logging Integrations.
Environment variables
KubeArchive supports the environment variable LOG_LEVEL, which is present
on all its Deployments with a value of "INFO" by default. This variable
specifies the minimum log level to be logged. To see debug logs, set it as
"DEBUG" and rollout the Deployment. For example:
kubectl set -n kubearchive env deployment kubearchive-api-server LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG
kubectl set -n kubearchive env deployment kubearchive-operator LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG
kubectl set -n kubearchive env deployment kubearchive-sink LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG
The rollout of the Deployments happens automatically after using the
command kubectl set env.
TraceID and SpanID
The KubeArchive Sink and API print logs with trace-id and span-id. If
observability
is configured, their values are correlated with the emitted traces.
If
observability
is not configured, their values are generated and only used within
KubeArchive to correlate logs.
